7 Large Textures "Perla"

Do you ever stare at a word for too long and start thinking, "wow, that spelling looks weird?" Earlier today I redesigned my preview images, and while I was looking for a nice font for the set titles on dafont.com and trying out various fonts I just suddenly started blinking frantically and wondering if the word "textures" is really spelled that way. Anyway, Photoshop can be quite addictive, ay? Again, size of these is 1152x864 and if you'd like to download this set, click on "read more."

10 Scratchy icon textures

Today I have got a pack of those famous scratchy textures. Ever wonder who started that trend? I do. I know there's about a million sets of these floating around but to be honest I just fancied some scratchiness. Bear with me. Click on "read more" for the download link.

Ouchies... Broken nails and how to fix them

While my nails seem to be in exceptionally great condition at the moment, I still had to deal with a broken nail a few days ago. I panicked--not only was it my favourite nail (yes, I actually have a favourite nail... don't ask) but the tear was so low there was no way I could have simply shortened my nail. After a little research with the help of my dear friend Mr Google, I found out that there is a simple and quite effective way to fix a broken nail without having to chop it off and wave it goodbye.

5 large and rather random textures

Today I have a set of 5 very random textures for you. The reason why they are so random is purely because I've only just got back into photoshopping and designing, so I was enjoying trying out lots of things. Hopefully you'll find some use for them! Size is 1152x864. Click on "read more" for the download link.

Snakeskin nails

Ever since I got my Bundle Monster plates I've been dying to do a snakeskin manicure. My stamping skills are still not the best, but I'm getting really into it and I love the results of my latest experiment.

  • Base coat: Rimmel London Nail Hardening base coat,
  • Base colour: Rimmel London 60 Seconds "Caramel Cupcake",
  • Stamp colour: Barry M "Gold Foil" and L'Oreal Color Riche "Luxembourg Gardens"
  • Top coat: Rimmel London Pro Super Wear.

I love the colour combination (which is probably more accurately shown in the first picture) and the irregularities of the pattern, even though I have to admit that initially those were unintentional.

Set of 3 floral patterns

I've been playing with Photoshop for a bit today and the result were these three lovely floral patterns. They are all 400x400px and I think they will make a lovely desktop, website, or blog background! Click on "read more" for the download link.

Nail polish haul

I just couldn't help myself after pay day! Barry M "Gold Foil" had been on my wishlist for a while. I was going to get "Dusky Mauve" as well, but after not being able to find it in my local Boots I was more than happy to get the equally gorgeous "Silvery Lilac" instead. For now, that is. Plus, I needed a new top coat, and with Rimmel being on offer for 3for2 I thought I may as well splurge and get two more polishes for the price of one. Result!

From left to right: Rimmel 60 Seconds "Rose Libertine", Rimmel top coat, Rimmel 60 Seconds "Caramel Cupcake", Barry M "Silvery Lilac", and finally Barry M "Gold Foil."

First attempt at stamping

After receiving my first set of Bundle Monster stamping plates from Amazon last week, I took advantage of my first day off in a while and got going. Admittedly, I've got a lot to work on, but I'm not too disappointed with my first try. Unfortunately I was in between moving houses so I only had a handful of nail polishes with me... all of which just didn't match the others. The best match I could find was L'Oreal Color Riche in "Luxembourg Garden" and "Rue Montmartre," both blues with a very slight green hue. Please ignore my index finger which I smudged up and truly ruined after mistaking a base coat for a top coat.

  • Base coat: Rimmel London Nail Hardening base coat,
  • Base colour: L'Oreal "Color Riche: Rue Montmartre",
  • Stamp colour: L'Oreal "Color Riche: Luxembourg Garden",
  • Top coat: none (= big mistake).
